**Update Regarding COVID Protocols

We understand the COVID transmission has surged recently so race organizers have created the following protocols to keep the event safe.

If you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19, please switch to virtual and stay home!

  • All swag will be delivered to participants at packet pick-up including medals and shirts to avoid multiple contacts between participants and race staff / volunteers over the weekend.
  • There will be a rolling start from 8am - 8:30am allowing for increased physical distancing in the start chute.
  • Per CDC guidelines, race organizers recommend wearing of masks when participants are not able to keep physical distancing (i.e. start chute, finish food area, boats, etc).
  • Cruise boats will be operated at 50% of boat max capacities with outdoor space available.
  • All aid station product will be prepackaged and we will be utilizing bottles so that participants don’t fill from the same water jugs.
  • Hand washing stations along the route.
  • Togo containers available for take and go food options post race.

This event works closely with Oktoberfest, but is a separate event. Participants should refer to other Oktoberfest website for Oktoberfest specific COVID-19 protocols. CDA Fondo organizers encourage all participants to eat and drink responsibly and safely after the event.


Start / Finish:

Start and finish line is located in front of the CDA Resort (115 S 2nd St, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814)

Packet Pickup:

Packet pickup will be held on Friday 9/17 as well as the morning of race day. We encourage participants to pick up their packet on Friday to reduce lines on race day.

  • Friday 9/17 front lawn of CDA Resort 3pm-7pm 115 S 2nd St, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814
  • Saturday 9/18 front lawn of CDA Resort 6am-7:30am 115 S 2nd St, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814
  • Packet pick-up will be outdoors
  • Virtual runners can pick up their packet at packet pick up or choose to have their packet shipped for $6 (this can be done in registration)

Start Times / Schedule:

  • 8:00am- 8:30am fondo rolling start (gran, medio, piccolo, family). This will allow for an increase of physical distance between riders. Riders can start anytime between 8:00am and 8:30am
  • 7:00am Centro riders can board the boat to Harrison (Independence Point Boat Docks)
  • 7:45am Centro riders will depart for Harrison (1.5 hour ride)
  • All Centro riders will have between 10:00am - 11:00am to cross the timing mats and start line in Harrison.
  • 11am - 1pm boat departs from Harrison back to resort (once boat is at 50% max capacity)
  • 6pm course closes

**Start times are subject to change as we monitor the ongoing changes of COVID-19. We will follow any guidelines and regulations provided by the local government.

Bib Numbers & Timing:

You will be given a seat post sticker with your bib number and timing chip attached. It must be affixed to the seat post as indicated below for accurate timing. If you do not attach your timing chip properly to your bike, you will not get a time.

Riders will also be given a bib. This must be worn on the rider and be visible at all times. There will be three tear tags on the bottom to use for a course breakfast sandwich in Harrison, finisher food, and your Oktoberfest ticket. Please do not lose these as this is your only way to access the food and get your Oktoberfest mug. 

Gear Bags, Special Needs Bags & Bike Check:

There will be gear check and special needs bag check available for Gran, Medio, Centro and Piccolo riders before the race. In an effort to reduce waste, please bring your own plastic bag or reusable grocery bag for gear check items. Be sure to mark your bag or the provided tyvek bag tag with your race number in permanent marker. Bike check will be available after the race for the enjoyment of Oktoberfest. There will be volunteers watching the bikes and you must have your race number to get in and out of the corral.

  • Gear check & Special Needs bag check will be from 6am-7:45am race morning at the CDA Clock Tower. The Gear bag truck will be leaving promptly at 7:45am. If your bag is late, it will not get on the truck.
  • Special needs bags will be delivered for athletes to pick-up at either Harrison and/or the Coeur d'Alene Casino. Please drop your bag to the correct drop-off race morning. There will be signage to indicate the correct drop-off points race morning. 
  • Leftover special needs bags from the course will be ready for pick up from 4pm-6pm at the CDA Clock Tower. Any bags not picked up before 6pm will be thrown away
  • Bike Corral will close at 6pm

Parking will be available at the Coeur d’Alene Resort parking garage and McEuen Park for a fee. Free parking is available downtown and on residential streets surrounding the lake.

Virtual Riders:

Virtual riders will be able to complete their ride from 9/18-9/19 and submit their results online. Riders can pick up their packets at packet pickup or choose shipping for $6 (done at registration).

Is open to all ages. Alcoholic beverages will only be served to participants 21 years of age and older with valid government issued ID – i.e., driver’s license, passport, military ID. Must have photo that matches the person providing the ID, name and birthdate. Menu includes: details coming soon!
